I just posted a new article to the DruidWiki, stating the current plan to migrate from MoinMoin to Sycamore. Skip on over, and take a peek :D

Before these get lost in the tide of uploads of old photographs I’m about to make to Flickr. I thought I’d just draw your attention to some pictures I took today, when walking back home from town.

Thanks to good ol’ Google Cache for retrieving this lost post…

If there’s one thing I believe shouldn’t be scrimped and scraped onwhen specifying computer hardware, it’s the human interface peripherals. I personally use a computer for a large portion of my day, if I can lesson the impact on my body by purchasing well designed, impact-stress reducing equipment, then that’s what I do. Er… That’s what I’ve gone and done :)

I was treating Little-Roo (wifey) to a Apple BlueTooth Keyboard, when I also decided that it was time to replace my six year old iFeel mouse, and my generic keyboard. I remember when I worked at Milton Keynes College, the wonderous time I had programming away on my black Cherry keyboard. With a quick search, I find this little baby:

Raptor Keyboard

It’s a Raptor K-1 Professional Gaming Grade Keyboard, and features:

  • Customizable light option
  • Customizable key lock option
  • USB hub for mouse and headset
  • Guaranteed 50 mio. klicks on each button (competition can support from 5 mio up to a max of 25 mio clicks per button)
  • Full-N-Key-Rollover (press as many buttons as you want and the keyboard still works with NO latency)
  • Micro-Switches (gold-plated) under EACH key (no rubber mat or any other cheap crap)
  • 30% shorter pressure point than competition, which makes you 30% faster than with a competitor keyboard

Yes, that did say gold-plated micro-switches :D The mouse I’ve ordered is a Logitech G5 Gaming-Grade Laser Mouse, and also has some scary specifications:

Logitech Gaming Mouse
  • Award-winning Logitech® MXâ„¢ Laser 2000-dpi Engine
  • “On-the-flyâ€? sensitivity adjustment to 2000, 800, and 400-dpi resolution
  • Adjustable weight cartridge allowing to adjust the weight of the
mouse by upto 36 grams allowing you to get the perfect balance required
to make you the ultimate fragger
  • 6.4 megapixel/second image processing
  • Up to 20 g of acceleration
  • Expanded 16-bit data format supports blazing fast moves with pure precision
  • Advanced gaming software, exclusive to Gaming-Gradeâ„¢ mice, for up to five custom sensitivity settings
  • Polytetrafluoreothylene Super-slick gaming feet for effortless, precise tracking
  • Contoured grip ensures peak performance and comfort—even in the most intense gaming sessions

I look forward to testing these puppies out!

Had a wee bit of an accident with the database, and have reverted to my last backup, which — unfortunately — did not have a copy of the last article posted. I’ll try and get something new up :D

Hmmm, odd how amazingly accurate this is:

yibble: Meaningless chattering conversation; often completely off topic. Most often talked about on forum websites and role-play games.

If talking about something serious, and someone intercuts with a random note: "I don’t like the taste of toothpaste."

Urban Dictionary: yibble
